Netanyahu Responds to Deadly Terrorist Attack in Jerusalem

Six people were killed at a bus stop in Jerusalem Monday in what authorities are describing as a “terrorist attack.” Two Palestinian gunmen are reported to have carried out the attack.

“We are engaged in pursuit and are cordoning off the villages from which the murderers came,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the scene of the attack on Monday. “We will apprehend whoever aided and dispatched them, and will take even stronger steps.”

“These attacks do not weaken our resolve—they only strengthen our determination to complete the missions: to eliminate Hamas, to free all the hostages, and to ensure the security of Israel’s citizens,” Netanyahu added.

The attack took place at Ramot Junction, a part of Jerusalem that Israel gained control over in the 1967 war.

Netanyahu held a meeting with the heads of Israel’s security establishment following the attack.

Israel Katz, Israel’s Defense Minister, pledged the attack will have “severe and far-reaching consequences. We will pursue terror everywhere.”

The attack comes as Hamas is reported to be considering a U.S.-backed hostage deal and ceasefire to end the war. The proposed deal reportedly calls for the release of all the hostages, living and dead, on the first day of the ceasefire in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. Negotiations for an end to the war would then ensue.

“Everyone wants the Hostages HOME. Everyone wants this War to end! The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well,” President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday afternoon.

“I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” Trump said.

The president did not explain what “consequences” he was referring to.

For now, Israel is continuing to move ahead with its plans to take full control of Gaza City, the largest city in Gaza.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
