Netflix Cancellations Surged After Co-Founder Endorsed Kamala

Netflix cancellations skyrocketed after company co-founder and executive chairman Reed Hastings endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in July.

Bloomberg News reported that cancellations tripled after Hastings made the announcement and donated $7 million to a super PAC backing her campaign.

“After the depressing debate, we are in the game again,” Hastings said in an interview.

He later added on X: “Congrats to Kamala Harris — now it is time to win.”

Subscribers were already canceling their plans en masse in July after the streaming service killed off its lowest tier subscription package, but the week after Hastings made his endorsement, cancellations spiked to levels that were “unusual, even for July,” the report said.

After Hastings went public with the endorsement and his donation, conservatives made #CancelNetflix trend on social media for days.

The Democrat megadonor was one of the most prominent voices on the Left who urged President Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race after his disastrous debate against former President Donald Trump in late June.

“Biden needs to step aside to allow a vigorous Democratic leader to beat Trump and keep us safe and prosperous,” he told The New York Times.

The Times noted that Hastings and his wife, Patty Quillin, have increased their donations to Democrats in recent years — more than $20 million — over their vehement opposition to Trump.

While they had given at least $1.6 million to back Biden, most of their money went to boosting Democrats in House and Senate races.

The two had also given millions of dollars to stop efforts to recall far-Left California Governor Gavin Newsom and San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
