President Trump Calls For ‘Radical Transparency’ On Ideological Government Spending

President Donald Trump is calling for federal agencies to explain how they have wasted American taxpayer dollars.

In a memorandum released Tuesday afternoon, the president said that “the government spends too much money on programs, contracts, and grants that do not promote the interests of the American people,” arguing that Americans have a right to see how the federal government is spending their “hard-earned wages.”

“For too long, taxpayers have subsidized ideological projects overseas and domestic organizations engaged in actions that undermine the national interest,” Trump said. “The American people have seen their tax dollars used to fund the passion projects of unelected bureaucrats rather than to advance the national interest. The American people have a right to see how the Federal Government has wasted their hard-earned wages.”

The president directed the heads of executive departments and agencies to “take all appropriate actions to make public … the complete details of every terminated program, cancelled contract, terminated grant, or any other discontinued obligation of Federal funds.”

The move is part of Trump’s efforts to fulfill his campaign promise to clean out the Deep State, target government corruption, and fire rogue bureaucrats and career politicians, according to a White House fact sheet. The Trump White House has made the case that under President Joe Biden’s administration, the United States government wasted taxpayer dollars on programs and contracts that did not serve the public but merely furthered ideological interests both domestically and overseas.

As examples of this wasteful spending, the White House points to the Biden administration sending almost $4.6 million to help groups abroad promote LGBTQ goals including pride parades and drag shows. The White House also points to wasteful USAID grants, such as the $1.5 million sent to “advance diversity equity and inclusion in Serbia’s workplaces and business communities.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
