President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump were greeted by King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Catherine, Princess of Wales when they arrived for an official state visit to the United Kingdom on Wednesday. 

Prince William and Catherine greeted the Trumps on castle grounds during the ceremonial arrival.

Trump said to the princess by way of greeting, “You’re beautiful, so beautiful.”

The president and first lady’s carriage was escorted into the Windsor Castle courtyard by British military servicemen and horses. There is also a joint U.S.-U.K. military flyover planned.

President Trump was invited by King Charles III, Prince William’s father, for a state visit that will run from Wednesday through Thursday.

The president and King Charles III later toured the Royal Collection Display, which included five tables of artifacts on U.S.-British relations, featuring 18th-century watercolors and documents concerning the United States’ claim of independence from King George III, according to the AP.

King Charles and Camilla gave the Trumps several gifts, including a handbound leather volume celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the Union Flag, which flew on the day of Trump’s inauguration, the outlet noted.

President Trump previously visited the United Kingdom in 2019. He is the first U.S. president ever invited to Britain for a second state visit.
