Speaker Mike Johnson Makes It Clear ‘A Man Cannot Become A Woman’

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) made it unequivocally clear that a “man can not become a woman” following the election of the first trans-identifying biological male into Congress, Sarah McBride.

Speaking to members of the press on Tuesday, Johnson said that after being asked a question at a gathering today, he wanted to make his stance on the transgender issue crystal clear, pointing out that he supports what scriptures say.

“Let me be unequivocally clear,” the speaker said. “A man is a man and a woman is a woman. And a man cannot become a woman.”

It comes after Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced a bill to keep McBride, who will represent Delaware in the House next year, from using the women’s bathrooms at the Capitol.

Mace’s bill would prohibit House members and staffers from “using single-sex facilities other than those corresponding to their biological sex” in the Capitol and House office buildings.

On Tuesday, Mace defended her position to stop McBride from using the women’s restroom, telling members of the press that she herself is a rape survivor.

“I’m not going to stand for man, someone with a penis, coming into a women’s locker room,” Mace said. “That’s not okay. I’m a victim of abuse myself. A rape survivor.”

“I have PTSD from the abuse I’ve suffered at the hands of a man,” she added. “And I know how vulnerable women and girls are in private spaces. So, I am absolutely, a hundred percent, going to stand in the way of any man who wants to be in a women’s restroom. I will be there fighting you every step of the way.”

Johnson previously reportedly said that trans-identifying men will not use women’s restrooms in the U.S. Capitol following McBride’s win. The speaker made the announcement to the GOP conference, POLITICO reported.

“He said there’s not going to be any biological men using our restrooms,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) told the outlet.

“It’s pretty aggressive for biological men to be invading our spaces,” Greene said.

Podcast host Megyn Kelly has also weighed in on the idea of McBride using the women’s restroom and blasted those who oppose Mace’s ban.

“Women have a right to know when they go into a bathroom, no men will be in there,” Kelly wrote on X.

“Why should members of Congress or female Hill staffers have to sacrifice this security so that men pretending to be women can feel better?” she added.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
