Talk Show Hosts Jennings, Kinnett Pray for Charlie Kirk After Shooting

After the shooting Wednesday of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk at a Utah Valley University event, CNN’s conservative commentator, Scott Jennings, and The Daily Signal’s Tony Kinnett joined together in praying for the outspoken conservative activist.

News of the shooting hit shortly after Jennings and Kinnett began speaking on a radio broadcast of “The Scott Jennings Show.” Jennings asked those listening to join him in prayer:

Jesus, we ask you to protect our friend Charlie. We ask you to protect the people who are with him. We ask for your blessings on his family and for comfort.

We ask you to heal this nation of the sickness that would cause somebody to do something like this. We ask it in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Jennings and Kinnett had been discussing crime and violence as political issues before the news broke.

Kinnett wrote on social media platform X after the broadcast concluded: “Pray for the medical staff at the hospital. That God would give them a discerning eye, deft hands, and every necessary resource.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
