The Daily Signal announced Monday the hiring of Keith Koffler to serve as the media outlet’s next managing editor. Koffler brings over 25 years of experience in political journalism and digital media leadership to the news organization.
Koffler joins The Daily Signal from Fox News Digital, where he served as senior editor since January 2021, managing a team of 12 reporters and editors covering politics in Washington, D.C. Under his leadership, Fox News Digital maintained its position as one of the nation’s most-trafficked news websites.
“Keith’s extensive experience in political journalism and digital media makes him the ideal candidate to lead our day-to-day news coverage,” Daily Signal Editor-in-Chief Katrina Trinko said. “His track record of building high-performing teams and delivering quality journalism aligns perfectly with our mission.”
Prior to Fox News Digital, Koffler held senior editorial positions at the Washington Examiner, National Journal Group, and Roll Call. He also founded and published White House Dossier, an independent blog covering the White House, and authored “Bannon: Always the Rebel” in 2017.
Koffler’s work has appeared in major publications, including Reuters, NBC News, and Politico.
In his new role, Koffler will oversee The Daily Signal’s editorial operations, develop investigative and breaking news content, and work to expand the outlet’s reach across various platforms, including its popular newsletter and podcast offerings.
Tyler O’Neil, who previously served as managing editor, will move to a senior editor role to focus on writing original and investigative stories about political and cultural issues. Last month, O’Neil published his second highly acclaimed book, “The Woketopus: The Dark Money Cabal Manipulating the Federal Government.”
Koffler is a graduate of Swarthmore College and has received recognition for his work, including the “Force of Language” prize for writing from the publishers of The Atlantic Magazine.
The Daily Signal was originally created by The Heritage Foundation in June 2014 to serve as the policy organization’s multimedia news outlet. Ten years after its creation, in June 2024, The Daily Signal became an independent media organization with its own leadership team and board of directors.
Today, The Daily Signal team caters to an audience seeking to understand what’s really going on in centers of influence.
Since its relaunch last year, The Daily Signal added a year-long Journalism Fellowship program, hired Bradley Devlin as its first-ever politics editor, and secured press credentials to cover Congress, the White House, and Supreme Court. In January, renowned historian Victor Davis Hanson joined The Daily Signal as a senior contributor, producing a daily video on current events.
