Trump Makes His Pick To Win Super Bowl LIX

President Donald Trump picked the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.

The Chiefs are facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles. Kansas City is trying to win the big game for the third consecutive time, a feat no team has managed before. Philadelphia is looking for revenge after losing the Super Bowl to the Chiefs just two years ago.

Trump made his prediction during an interview with Fox News host Brett Baier. The president called Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes “a great, great quarterback” and had equally flattering words for his wife, Brittany.

“I just say that I watched this great quarterback – who has, by the way, a phenomenal wife, okay? She’s a Trump fan, she’s a MAGA fan so I happen to love her, okay? But she’s a great person. I watched her being interviewed, I said, ‘boy, that’s pretty good.’ But she’s great. And he’s great,” Trump said.

The NFL star’s wife has been seen as a Trump supporter since she liked a post from Trump’s Instagram account outlining the Republican Party platform in August last year. She went on to like other posts promoting the Trump-Vance 2024 campaign.

When it came to Trump’s prediction about the Super Bowl, he went with the Chiefs based on Mahomes ability to win games.

“I guess you have to say that when a quarterback wins as much as he’s won, I have to go with Kansas City. I have to go with Kansas City. At the same time, Philadelphia has just a fantastic — it’s gonna be just a great game,” Trump said.

Chiefs’ players have appeared excited to play for Trump since the president announced he would attend the big game. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce called the opportunity to play for the president a “great honor.”

“That’s awesome. It’s a great honor,” Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce said when asked about Trump’s attendance last week. “I think, you know, no matter who the president is, I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, you know. And having the president there, you know, it’s the best country in the world. So, that’d be pretty cool.”

Mahomes also welcomed Trump to the game, saying, “It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president, someone that is at the top position in our country.”
