Trump Rips Schumer: ‘He Used To Be Jewish.’ Let’s Compare Trump Vs. Schumer On Support For Jews.

On Wednesday, President Trump, the most powerful defender the Jewish people have ever had in the White House, took aim at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, saying, “He used to be Jewish.”

“Schumer is a Palestinian as far as I’m concerned,” Trump declared. “He used to be Jewish. He’s not Jewish anymore, he’s a Palestinian.”

To compare Schumer to Trump over their respective actions regarding the Jewish state of Israel and their responses to anti-Semitism in the United States illuminates just how pro-Jewish Trump is and how cavalier Schumer — who is Jewish — is regarding both of those issues.

In his first term, Trump was responsible for perhaps the single greatest achievement in the volatile Middle East, where Arab nations had traditionally either gone to war with Israel or refused to recognize the Jewish state. The Abraham Accords broke the logjam between Israel and its Arab neighbors, as the bilateral agreements between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain normalized the relations between the two countries.

Previous presidents had paid lip service to the idea of moving the American Embassy to Jerusalem, but only Trump had the guts to actually implement the move. He also acknowledged Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, a vital move for Israel’s security, as Arabs had traditionally used the area to fire down on Jews living below.

In his second term, Trump has made clear his unyielding opposition to Hamas and championed the move to eradicate anti-Semitism on university campuses, even withdrawing $400 million from Columbia University for its inaction regarding the issue.

Conversely, Schumer has a history of throwing the Jewish state under the bus when it suits his political purposes. In 2016, he announced he would support the virulently anti-Israel Keith Ellison to become chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Ellison, who was the first Muslim member of Congress, had a record of viciously ripping Israel, including posting a photo of a sign in Hebron declaring Israel to be an apartheid state when he visited the Jewish state, defending openly anti-Semitic Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, and urging the Democratic Party to insert pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel planks into the Democratic Party platform at the DNC.

When the Iran nuclear deal, which posed a mortal threat to Israel, was announced, Schumer took his time before announcing he would oppose it. His cynicism extended to assuring Democratic senators that he would not try to convince them to oppose it. Schumer wrote:

There are some who believe that I can force my colleagues to vote my way. While I will certainly share my view and try to persuade them that the vote to disapprove is the right one, in my experience with matters of conscience and great consequence like this, each member ultimately comes to their own conclusion.

In May 2021, after witnessing attacks on Jews in New York City by supporters of Hamas and the Palestinians, former NY State Assemblyman Dov Hikind eviscerated Schumer, noting Schumer had cynically used his last name, which is closely akin to the Hebrew word “Shomer,” which means guardian, to claim that he is a “protector” of the Jewish people. “He’s not protecting anybody except himself. He’s so terrified of AOC running against him that he is betraying the fundamental values, betraying his people,” Hikind stated.

Schumer was silent as vicious anti-Semitic actions took place across American universities. “A recent congressional report shows how he texted then-Columbia president Minouche Shafik telling her to keep her head down as the noise is only coming from Republicans,” JNS reported. He refused to bring an anti-Semitism bill to the Senate floor. He brazenly tried to interfere in Israeli politics by declaring elections should be held to oust Prime Minister Netanyahu, saying last March, in the middle of Israel’s desperate war against Hamas, “At this critical juncture, I believe a new election is the only way to allow for a healthy and open decision-making process about the future of Israel, at a time when so many Israelis have lost their confidence in the vision and direction of their government.”

As Senate Majority Leader, Schumer consistently stalled on imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court for equating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Hamas terrorist leaders and threatening to arrest Netanyahu.

In January, Schumer endorsed the chairman of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, who supports the hard-left anti-Semites of his party and is a devotee of DEI policies, to head the Democratic National Committee.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
