Trump Shares Touching Story Of Barron Wanting To Meet Charlie Kirk

President Donald Trump stopped by “Fox & Friends” Friday morning to do a studio interview and share updates on the capture of Charlie Kirk’s alleged killer. During the course of the conversation, the president related a personal anecdote about what Kirk meant to his youngest son, Barron.

“He was very hurt when he saw this. But, I mean, everybody was,” the president said.

Trump recalled that Barron, who is currently living in the White House while attending college at New York University’s DC campus, once asked his dad to make an introduction.

“Barron came to me and he said, ‘Dad, I’d like to meet somebody that you know, Charlie Kirk.’ … I thought he was gonna say he wanted to meet like King Charles or something … and I set up a lunch … and he came back and said, ‘That guy’s great, Dad. That guy’s great.’ It was cute,” Trump said during the studio interview.

He added, “Charlie had a magic over the kids and large numbers of them, and very diverse, black, white. I mean, everybody, the young women and boys, and I’ve never seen anything like it.”

“We lost an unbelievable warrior,” Trump added.

Kirk was known for his influence over young people and his willingness to engage in debate with them, empowering young conservatives to speak the truth on hostile, liberal college campuses.

“It’s kind of scary to say what you believe in, especially in this cancel culture,” Porter LaFeber, a student at Utah Valley University, told The New York Times. “Charlie Kirk seemed like he just went totally above that. He kind of gave a voice to the people that were maybe a little bit scared.”

“He gave me the confidence to be able to believe what I believe,” LaFeber added.

On Thursday night, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson was arrested in connection with Kirk’s assassination. Robinson was a resident of Utah but did not attend UVU.
