Trump to Visit United Kingdom in September

President Donald Trump will take an unprecedented second state visit to the United Kingdom in September.
“The United States’ friendship with the United Kingdom is one of our country’s oldest and most treasured alliances—which recently resulted in a historic trade deal that expanded market access for American farmers,” press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement to The Daily Signal. “President Trump was thrilled to receive the King’s invitation for an unprecedented second state visit, and he looks forward to continuing to foster this special relationship between our two nations.”
King Charles III and Queen Camilla will host the president and first lady Sept. 17-19 at Windsor Castle, 30 miles west of London, Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
Trump is the first American president to be invited for a second state visit. Queen Elizabeth II hosted Trump in 2019.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer delivered an invitation to Trump to return during his February visit to the White House.
“That’s really something,” Trump said.
It’s unclear whether Trump will have the opportunity to speak to parliament at Westminster because the House of Commons will not be in session during the visit. The House of Lords will be in session, however.
