WATCH: Dems Dodge Question On Men In Women’s Sports After Newsom Calls It ‘Deeply Unfair’

Democrats on Capitol Hill largely stayed mute when asked their thoughts on biological males participating in female sports.

A dozen Democrats were approached in Washington, D.C., and asked to respond to recent comments by California Governor Gavin Newsom on trans-identifying males playing in female sports leagues, according to a video obtained by The Daily Wire. Last week, Newsom called the situation “deeply unfair” to women.

Most of the lawmakers ignored the question. Florida Rep. Maxwell Frost, California Reps. Robert Garcia and Derek Tran, Virginia Rep. Eugene Vindman, Washington Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, North Carolina Rep. Don Davis, New York Rep. Richie Torres, Nevada Rep. Susie Lee did not respond.

California Rep. Lateefah Simon responded that children “should be able to participate in all things in school.”

“We shouldn’t be worried about what’s in kids’ pants. Let them play,” she said.

California Rep. Ro Khanna said he supports a California law enacted in 2013: “that the [California] Interscholastic Federation gets to make sure that trans kids are included, but there’s fairness and safety standards, and that they take those values into account. It’s been the law on the books for over ten years.”

Maryland Rep. Glenn Ivey dodged the query and said “to get some new questions, please.”

Florida Rep. Jared Moskowitz said “We’ve got to protect girls in sports, but at the same time make sure that we protect people in the LGBT community.”

In his debut episode of his new podcast, “This Is Gavin Newsom,” the California governor came out against biological men being allowed to participate in female sports, no matter how they identify.

Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, Newsom’s first guest, asked the governor, “You, as the governor, should step out and say ‘no.’ Would you do something like that? Would you say no men in female sports?”

“Well, I think it’s an issue of fairness,” Newsom replied. “I completely agree with you on that. It’s deeply unfair.”

Last week, Senate Democrats unanimously voted to block a Republican bill that would strip federal funding from schools that allow biological males to participate in female sports.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
