‘We’re Not Talking About Politics Now’: Trump Delivers Supplies To Hurricane-Ravaged Georgia

Former President Donald Trump visited Valdosta, Georgia, on Monday in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene — and he called for everyone to set politics aside as much of the southeastern United States recovers from damages wrought by high winds, devastating floods, and debris flows.

Trump toured some of the damaged areas alongside the Reverend Franklin Graham and members of his charity organization Samaritan’s Purse, and they helped to deliver and distribute supplies — ranging from clean bottled water to gasoline — to those who had been impacted by the weekend’s storm.

“As you know, our country is in the final weeks of a hard-fought national election. But in a time like this when a crisis hits, when our fellow citizens cry out in need, none of that matters. We’re not talking about politics now. We have to all get together and get this solved,” Trump began.

“They have to have a lot of help down here. We look out for one another, we pull together, we pitch in, we persevere, and we pull it through,” he continued. “That is really the American spirit, that’s what made America originally great. And that’s why today I’ve come to Valdosta with large semi trucks, many of them, filled with relief aid and a tanker truck filled up with gasoline — we have a couple of the big tanker trucks filled up with gasoline which they can’t get now.”

In concluding his remarks, Trump thanked Graham and Samaritan’s Purse for their help in getting everything together quickly in the face of the devastating storms.

Trump did not stay away from politics entirely, however, calling out President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for not doing more to respond to the storm in the immediate aftermath of it hitting the United States.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
