Whoopi Attacks Mark Cuban For Realizing That ‘Trump Sucks’ Isn’t Good Messaging

Whoopi Goldberg unleashed on businessman Mark Cuban on Tuesday, complaining that he was getting things wrong when he said that simply complaining that “Trump sucks” did not seem to be working effectively as a message for the Democrats going forward.
Goldberg, from her platform on ABC’s “The View,” suggested the Cuban was aiming his criticism the wrong people and argued that Democrat voters had been out protesting Trump from the very beginning of his first term. She did not, however, offer any evidence that they had presented a more cohesive message beyond simply complaining that Trump was bad.

Cuban broke down several of the issues he believes are facing the Democratic Party during a recent appearance on the “Pod Save America” podcast — where he also suggested that former Vice President Kamala Harris had been kept from doing the “bro podcasts” because her campaign leadership “didn’t trust her” — and the topic turned to messaging.
“Trump says, you know, ‘the sky is blue,’ Trump sucks,” Cuban said, commenting on the Democrats’ almost reflexive habit of contradicting every statement President Donald Trump makes. “You can’t — that’s not the way to win. It’s just not, because it’s not about Trump, it’s about the people of the United States of America and what’s good for them — and how you get them to a place where they’re in a better position.”
Goldberg, responding to Cuban’s comment, unloaded: “Okay. Yeah, okay. So, let me remind everybody who was out on the front lines marching when we had the giant marches that went on, it was the people, the people went out! They were not navel gazing.”
“It was older people who were saying, ‘why are you touching my Social Security?’ It was not people whining,” she continued, arguing — without explaining which rights she was referring to — that it was about people objecting to Trump “taking away rights.”
“Democrats have been angry at what this man tried to do the last time. They’ve been angry this time. So, I — with much due respect to you both, I believe you are pointing the finger at the wrong person when you say Democrats! … Our messaging has not been bad,” she insisted, saying that a line should be drawn between elected Democrats and voters.
