‘A Glorious Moment’: Conservative Actor Celebrates Trump Pardon After Jan. 6 Charges

A man who entered the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021, and was later arrested said President Donald Trump’s pardon this week was “a glorious moment.”

Siaka Massaquoi, a conservative actor and former first vice chair of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County, spoke to The Daily Signal about his experiences with law enforcement and Trump’s decision to pardon 1,500 individuals on his first day in office.

Like others who entered the Capitol building on that fateful day in 2021, Massaquoi recalls being interviewed, recording video, and leaving at the request of a police officer.

When describing the events of Jan. 6, he called the situation a “honeypot” and “entrapment.”

“I’ve seen videos where Capitol Police removed fencing and the signs that said that it was a restricted area. … We were entrapped by the Biden administration,” he told The Daily Signal.

Massaquoi was not contacted by law enforcement regarding his presence at the Capitol until FBI officers raided his home on June 10, 2021.

“It was a raid to my house, and 15 agents, and guns drawn,” Massaquoi said during an interview Thursday. “When I heard, ‘FBI! FBI!’ the first thought that came to mind was, ‘You have got to be kidding me.’”

Three years after the raid by the FBI, Massaquoi was arrested in front of his wife on the tarmac of the Hollywood Burbank Airport in Los Angeles.

“They could have easily called me,” he said. “I would have turned myself in if that was the case, but they made a spectacle out of this.”

After officers took Massaquoi into custody, they informed him that he was charged with four misdemeanors.

“So, a raid on my house, three years of harassment every time I flew, and then ripped away from my wife, and an arrest on a tarmac for misdemeanors,” he said.

Massaquoi was in law enforcement custody for 24 hours before being released following his bond hearing the next day.

When asked about his presidential pardon on Inauguration Day, Massaquoi said, “It’s just a mix of emotion, of joy and excitement. … It was such a glorious moment to share that with so many people.”

Massaquoi, who now stars in roles for conservative outlets like The Daily Wire and Babylon Bee, hopes to create more scripted content to “capture the hearts of young people.”

“I want to film something that can be in the culture in a way to revitalize the love for our country through art,” he said. “I think it’s very important because you can’t legislate the heart.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
