EXCLUSIVE: Women’s Rights Advocate Files Federal Complaint After Being Silenced On Campus

Olivia Krolczyk, a women’s rights advocate and ambassador with the Riley Gaines Center, filed a complaint on Tuesday morning with the Office of Civil Rights at the Department of Education after she was silenced at the University of Washington.

Krolczyk was invited to the university by the school’s Turning Point USA chapter and was scheduled to give a speech titled “Protect Women from Men – The Threat of Trans Agenda,” on January 21. However, the 21-year-old was prevented from speaking by a mob of about 200 protesters, per the complaint.

The complaint, which was shared with The Daily Wire, says that the University of Washington failed to take “reasonable and necessary measures” to address the hostile environment Krolczyk experienced as an invited guest at the school. It further cites the “deliberate indifference the UW leadership and administration showed leading up to and since the incident occurred.”

Citing Title IX, Krolczyk is asking the Education Department to investigate the “gender based hostile environment and discrimination” and the school administration’s “deliberate indifference to the matter.”

“On January 21, I attempted to give a speech advocating for women’s rights as an invited guest at the University of Washington,” Krolczyk said in a statement sent to The Daily Wire. “Unfortunately, a leftist mob descended upon the event, spewing hateful and anti-female rhetoric, and I was never able to participate.”

“Today, I’ve filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights because I was a victim of discrimination during this experience and University officials did nothing about it,” she said.

As threats of disruption circulated around campus, security was arranged for Krolczyk’s speech — though it clearly wasn’t enough.

For example, in the days leading up to the event, posters on campus and images on social media deemed the speech a “hate rally” hosted by a “white nationalist hate group.” The image also encouraged students to “bring friends, signs, noise makers” and to “mask up.”

As promised, protesters came to disrupt the event. About 15 minutes before Krolczyk’s speech was set to begin, the protest ballooned to a crowd of about 200 students, including ANTIFA protesters, the complaint says.

“The ANTIFA protesters began to engage in coordinated protests outside the event space, complete with music, signs, and chants. Protesters pulled the fire alarms, and the protest turned hostile and violent,” the complaint reads. “Ms. Krolczyk immediately felt unsafe and unwelcome.”

Things only escalated from there: “Police officers were stationed at each door, as protesters began banging on the doors, shouting insults, and calling Ms. Krolczyk names such as ‘Nazi’ and ‘fascist.’ Ms. Krolczyk felt trapped. She was being held hostage in the room, with no safe way to exit due to the violent actions of the protesters,” the complaint outlines. “Protesters broke windows, threw various objects into the room, and released balloons filled with helium and noisemakers into the room, further disrupting the event.”

Despite Krolczyk’s desire to speak, she had to be escorted out of the room “by police officers in full riot gear to a police vehicle for her safety.”

The following day, the University of Washington issued a statement that seemed to blame Krolczyk for the protesters’ actions.

“Informed discussion and debate are encouraged on our campus, however, it is clear that presenters and disruptors are, in some cases, seeking to antagonize one another in ways that provide dramatic content for their social media feeds,” the statement said.

Commenting on the complaint, the Functional Government Initiative’s Roderick Law cited President Donald Trump’s actions to restore Title IX and keep female spaces female in a statement to The Daily Wire.

“The effort to bring back sanity to women’s sports, especially reversing the flawed interpretations of Title IX from the previous administration, is a great step,” Law said. “The discrimination Olivia faced as she was advocating for women is disturbing. Students, invited guest speakers, and anyone else who visit publicly funded institutions should be assured that institutions adhere to the laws protecting against discrimination.”

Krolczyk joined the Riley Gaines Center at the Leadership Institute and began speaking out to protect women’s spaces after she received a failing grade on a project proposal in one of her courses at the University of Cincinnati for using the term “biological woman.”

Krolczyk posted about the experience but was censored, as TikTok banned the post for supposed “community guideline violations.” She was later permanently banned from the platform.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
