House Oversight Panel Subpoenas Clintons, Former AGs, in Epstein Probe

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has subpoenaed Bill and Hillary Clinton for depositions in its Jeffrey Epstein investigation. The House panel is also compelling a host of prominent former Justice Department officials in both parties to provide answers.

The committee is calling Hillary Clinton, a former secretary of state and twice-failed presidential candidate, to appear on Oct. 9, and former President Bill Clinton a few days later on Oct. 14.

The committee also subpoenaed former attorneys general under Republican and Democrat administrations to determine how the Justice Department conducted the case of the convicted sex offender who died in his prison cell from hanging, which was determined a suicide by law enforcement.

Biden administration Attorney General Merrick Garland has been compelled to be deposed. Obama administration attorneys general Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch were both called, as well as Trump’s two attorneys general from his first term, William Barr and Jeff Sessions. Also, George W. Bush’s second attorney general, Alberto Gonzales, was subpoenaed.

Two former FBI directors, Robert Mueller and James Comey, were also called for a deposition.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., announced the subpoenas today following a bipartisan vote on July 23 from the House Oversight Subcommittee on Federal Law Enforcement in favor of a motion by Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., to get further answers about the Epstein case.

The Epstein matter has gained bipartisan curiosity after Attorney General Pam Bondi recently declined to release additional information on the matter. Democrats, who long ignored the case, then used it to bludgeon the Trump administration, whereas many Republicans were anticipating more answers.

The committee is giving the Justice Department until Aug. 19 to provide Epstein records, Fox News reported. The Trump attorneys general are being compelled to appear before the committee in August, as will Gonzales. Obama administration attorneys general are being compelled to appear before the committee in September. Garland will appear on Oct. 2, days before the Clintons.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
