Josh Hawley Points Out Major Contradiction As Dems Lose Their Minds Over Trump’s Ballroom Project
Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) fired back at CNN congressional reporter Manu Raju over complaints about President Donald Trump’s privately-funded ballroom project, arguing that critics of the renovation had no room to talk due to their own previous actions.
Raju attempted to push the narrative that Trump’s project was taking away from the White House’s “iconic” status by changing its footprint, but Hawley immediately pushed back on the idea that the construction of a ballroom would somehow undercut the historical significance of the building.

“What about just uprooting the — you know — this is an iconic building?” Raju pressed.
“Manu, I will just say this. I made this point yesterday, that I hear all of a sudden from my liberal friends that they’re very concerned about our history,” Hawley replied. “Really? These are the same people who tore down every statue they could get their hands on in the last four years. Christopher Columbus, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt.”

“They didn’t have any concern for history then. Now all of a sudden, they’re like, oh, the façade of the East Wing is iconic,” Hawley continued. “Oh, give me a break! I mean, give me a break.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared a clip of the exchange as well, commenting, “So true!”

“90% of the people who are upset about the demolition at the White House appear to think that the East Wing is the east side of the White House residence rather than an outbuilding constructed in the 1940s,” another added.
