Kamala Harris Returns, Shows the World Why America Chose Wisely

Kamala Harris’ return tour isn’t going well.

The former vice president has reemerged lately to remind the nation how catastrophic her presidency might have been had she defeated now-President Donald Trump in 2024. Harris has been hawking her new book, “107 Days,” a memoir of sorts about her brief stint as the anointed Democrat presidential candidate last year.

I admit, I haven’t read the book. Though a few unfortunates decided to waste several hours and posted some of the prose on X.

This is obviously a rehabilitation campaign, an attempt by Harris to put herself back in the news and make the case that she’s a credible frontrunner for the 2028 Democrat presidential nomination. But given how the book tour has been going already, it couldn’t be clearer that Harris is lacking the skillset to win a competitive election. Her only real political talent appears to be in navigating the Byzantine identity machine politics of the DEI-obsessed Democratic Party. And she couldn’t even pull that off.

This was all on display in Harris’ disastrous interview with friendly MSNBC host Rachel Maddow.

Few politicians that I can remember have been better at flubbing softball interviews.

Harris delivered a series of trademark word salads to questions that she presumably had months to prepare for.

One of the tougher questions she faced was about a comment in her book that while she liked former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, she didn’t pick him as her veep because it was too risky to put a gay many on the ticket.

Now, I think there are many reasons that Buttigieg would have been a poor vice-presidential choice. The former mayor’s tenure at the Department of Transportation was hardly sparkling and his most notable initiative was a $1 billion project to fight racist roads.

But apparently the decision came down to the issue of him simply being gay and how that played with voters.

Maddow, who is a lesbian, pushed Harris on the issue.

“It’s hard to hear with you running as, you know you’re the first elected vice president, a black woman and a south Asian woman elected to that high office, very nearly elected president, to say that he couldn’t be on the ticket effectively because he was gay is hard to hear,” Maddow said.

Harris then started spinning, saying that this wasn’t what she said in her book, but bringing a gay man on her ticket in the 107 days she had to run for president against Trump would have been “a real risk.”

I’m not sure what the short time frame had to do with Buttigieg being such a risk or what that has to do with Trump, who has had gay men in his cabinet in his first and second term, but there it is, I guess.

Oh, and if you thought Harris would find a way to turn down the political heat after the assassination of Charlie Kirk you haven’t been paying attention. She never mentioned Kirk, of course. (Though she also didn’t mention late night TV host Jimmy Kimmel, whose brief suspension from ABC for misleading viewers made him the real victim in all this in the eyes of the Left.)

Instead, Harris ratcheted up the rhetoric, calling President Donald Trump a “tyrant.” She said he was like a communist dictator, “that’s what we’re dealing with right now.”

I can’t think of any communist dictators who’ve allowed their opposition to go on national media and speak out against them, though I can think of a few who tried to put their political opponents in jail.

Perhaps even more absurdly after comparing Trump to a communist dictator, Harris endorsed New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, an actual communist who wants to create government-run grocery stores. The best that could be said about her endorsement is that she didn’t seem too enthused about it.

“Look, as far as I’m concerned, he’s the Democratic nominee and he should be supported.”

What a bold declaration of principles. She’s against commie tyrants unless they’re Democrat commie tyrants, I guess. How brave. What leadership. What a commitment to putting “country first.”

If Harris is proving anything with her return to the public spotlight it’s that she was wholly unfit to be commander in chief. It’s obvious that Harris has learned nothing from her defeat, nor has her party, which has mostly spent the last few weeks virtue signaling their ghoulishness about political assassinations.

Democrats are still stuck in the age of DEI, their champions are either frothing leftists or hollow, mealy mouthed nothings like Harris.

We are incredibly fortunate that an assassin’s bullet missed Trump and nearly as fortunate that the country decisively (not narrowly as Harris also claimed) chose not to hand Harris the power of the executive branch.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
