‘We Want Our Capital Back’: Trump Gives Preview Of Monday Press Conference On Public Safety In D.C.

President Donald Trump gave a preview on Sunday of a planned Monday press conference that he said was aimed at addressing several of the major public safety issues currently plaguing Washington, D.C.

Trump first announced the press conference via his Truth Social platform on Saturday, saying, “On Monday a Press Conference will be held at the White House which will, essentially, stop violent crime in Washington, D.C. It has become one of the most dangerous cities anywhere in the World. It will soon be one of the safest!!!”

He followed that announcement on Sunday morning with a post laying out some of the details and sharing photos of the homeless encampments that he intended to address in his remarks.

“We’re having a News Conference tomorrow in the White House. I’m going to make our Capital safer and more beautiful than it ever was before,” Trump said, first addressing the issues relating to the homeless population — and saying that they would have to move out of the city. “The Homeless have to move out, IMMEDIATELY. We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital.”

Trump then pivoted to address those who were breaking the law in the capital city, citing his administration’s rapid success in gaining operational control of the southern border and suggesting that he would tackle issues in the nation’s capital in equal measure.

“The Criminals, you don’t have to move out. We’re going to put you in jail where you belong. It’s all going to happen very fast, just like the Border. We went from millions pouring in, to ZERO in the last few months. This will be easier — Be prepared! There will be no ‘MR. NICE GUY.’ We want our Capital BACK. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
