Donald Trump Has A Recommendation For Greta Thunberg After Her ‘Selfie Flotilla’

President Donald Trump offered advice to Swedish activist Greta Thunberg on Monday, after she was detained by the Israel Defense Forces for attempting to sail to Gaza with the “Freedom Flotilla.”

“Well she’s a strange person,” Trump said at a White House event. “She’s a young, angry person. I don’t know if it’s real anger, it’s hard to believe actually, but I saw what happened. She’s certainly different, anger management. I think she has to go to an anger management class. That’s my primary recommendation for her.”

The Israeli Navy’s Shayetet 13 commando unit and the Snapir harbor border security unit intercepted the “Freedom Flotilla” Sunday night and offered the 12 left-wing activists aboard the “Madleen” one final warning to turn back. When they refused, the IDF forces boarded the vessel around 3:00 a.m., and provided the group sandwiches and water before towing the vessel to Ashdod.

The Israel Foreign Ministry shared a photo of Thunberg smiling when being handed the sandwich and water, with the caption, “Greta Thunberg is currently on her way to Israel, safe and in good spirits.”

Following Thunberg’s arrest, a prerecorded video message of her was released, where she said she was “kidnapped” by the IDF.

“If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters,” she said. “I urge all of my friends, family and comrades to put pressure on the Swedish government to release me and the others as soon as possible.”

When asked if her claim that she was “kidnapped by Israel” is accurate, Trump responded, “I think Israel has enough problems without kidnapping Greta Thunberg.”

“Is that what she said, she was kidnapped by Israel?” Trump asked, shaking his head.

Greta and her comrades docked at the Israeli port of Ashdod on Monday and underwent medical examinations to ensure that they are in good health, according to the ministry, which posted a photo of Thunberg on shore in front of Israeli flags.

The group is expected to be held in a detention facility in Ramle before being deported from the Jewish state.

In a press briefing Monday, Israeli government spokesman David Mencer said Thunberg gave “a new definition to the word chutzpah.”

“In more than 20 months, Greta has not found one single moment to call for the release of our hostages, not one single moment, and she has the chutzpah to say that she has been kidnapped,” Mencer said. “Greta will be returned back to her home country very, very shortly with the firm message that [this] isn’t a music festival, it’s a warzone.”

Israel’s Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, said he instructed the IDF to show graphic footage of Hamas’ October 7 massacre to the group upon their arrival to Israel.

“It is appropriate that the antisemitic Greta and her fellow Hamas supporters see exactly who the Hamas terrorist organization they came to support and for whom they work is, what atrocities they committed against women, the elderly, and children, and against whom Israel is fighting to defend itself,” Katz said.

While much of the 40+ minute footage has been circulated online, the compilation does not blur the faces of dead or alive adults, and includes some videos that have not been released publicly. In total, the video shows over 120 bodies, including children, videos of beheadings, houses and people set on fire, unarmed people shot at point-blank range, and more.

The group, which has been mocked as the “selfie flotilla,” or sailing on a “selfie yacht,” was using the voyage as a publicity stunt in its attempt to break the Israeli blockade and bring humanitarian supplies to Gaza.

The ministry pointed out that the 59-foot boat included less than a single truckload of aid, while more than 1,200 aid trucks have entered Gaza over the last two weeks. The Trump administration-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation successfully delivered more than 8 million meals to Gazans since its operation began less than a month ago, according to the organization.

Mencer called Thunberg’s stunt “Instagram activism,” adding, “And to poor Greta, we say who is really funding Gaza, who is really feeding Gaza, and who is funding their own ego?”

“This was a PR stunt sailing under the flag of moral vanity,” Mencer said. “We won’t allow a dangerous precedent to dock at our shores. Letting this selfie yacht dock in Gaza would open the floodgates for Iran-backed terror, for extremists worldwide and for every pseudo activist chasing headlines.”

The Israeli government plans to transfer the “tiny” amount of aid aboard the boat to Gaza through “real humanitarian channels,” according to the ministry.

The flotilla passengers are primarily left-wing activists, including Thiago Ávila of Brazil, who has a long record of anti-Israel radicalism—including attending the funeral of slain Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, calling the hostages in Gaza “prisoners,” meeting with terrorists, and stating that he “despises” both the United States and Israel.

The other detained activists include a French member of the European Parliament, Rima Hassan, and “Game of Thrones” actor Liam Cunningham.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
