ICE Raids NYC’s Canal Street As Rioters Try To Stop Arrests Of Illegal Immigrant Criminals

Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Tuesday raided New York City’s Canal Street, which is notorious for illegal immigrant crime, as a mob of rioters tried to stop them.

Nine African illegal immigrants with lengthy rap sheets were arrested in the operation, Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons told Fox News on Wednesday. Their crimes include forgery, drug trafficking, robbery, and assault.

Five of them entered the United States illegally and were released thereafter by the Biden administration, the Department of Homeland Security said.

“We do these based on criminal intelligence, and that’s what we had,” Lyons said.

The protestors who amassed yelled in the faces of ICE agents, calling them Nazis and fascists, according to AMNY. Some anti-ICE rioters attempted to block federal authorities’ vehicles, according to DHS.

“We know everywhere we go because of elected officials’ rhetoric against violence on ICE, we have these protests,” Lyons said.

Despite the efforts of anti-ICE agitators, the feds plan to double down and make more arrests in the Big Apple, Lyons said.

“You will see an increase in ICE arrests because there are so many criminal illegal aliens that have been released in New York specifically and especially that are being harbored in New York for the lack of cooperation there, in New York City. So you will see us making those criminal arrests to make New York safe again.”

The raid came days after Turning Point USA reporter Savanah Hernandez exposed the masses of African migrants selling counterfeit designer bags on Canal Street who took off running whenever the cops showed up.

Hernandez suggested on X at the time that “Perhaps @ICEgov should go check this corner out.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
