Michigan Walmart Stabbing Victims Show Signs of Recovery, None in Critical Condition

None of the 11 victims in the stabbing at a Michigan Walmart Saturday afternoon are in critical condition anymore, the local hospital treating them announced.
Munson Medical Center said Sunday morning that it’s seeing “encouraging signs of recovery” in the victims injured in the Traverse City, Michigan, stabbing.
As of Sunday morning, four of the victims are in “serious condition” and seven of them are in “fair condition.”
Just before 5 p.m. Saturday, the 42-year-old suspect used a folding knife to randomly stab Walmart customers. Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s name.
A Walmart customer told the Michigan news outlet MLive that he was loading his truck when he watched a man cut a woman’s throat.
According to MLive, a group of customers had the attacker surrounded about five minutes later, shouting at him to “drop the knife” to which the suspect yelled, “I don’t care, I don’t care,” as he backed away from them. Then a man tackled and subdued the suspect until police arrived.
Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea said the attacks were random, and it’s believed the suspect acted independently at this point as there’s no information suggesting otherwise.
Shea said his department will share more information as the investigation progresses.
Deputy Director of the FBI Dan Bongino said on X Saturday evening that “FBI personnel are responding to provide any necessary support to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office in their investigation.”
Both Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg released statements on social media speaking out about the attack.
Whitmer said Saturday that she would “continue monitoring the situation closely” and is “grateful to the first responders for their swift response to apprehend the suspect.”
Buttigieg said he and his husband “are shaken by the awful and senseless violence” and are “hoping and praying for speedy recovery for all those who were injured.”
Walmart spokesperson Joe Pennington told Fox News Digital that “violence like this is unacceptable” and Walmart will continue to work intimately with law enforcement.
