As the Feud Persists, Trump Considers Giving Away His Tesla

President Donald Trump’s feud with Elon Musk showed no sign of reconciliation Friday. Recent reports revealed that the president considered giving away his Tesla in response to Elon’s public attacks on Trump’s spending bill and accusing him of being in the Epstein files.
Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy reported that in the face of Musk’s outburst on X, Trump is contemplating what to do with his Tesla. “We are being told that Tesla is still sitting there—The red Tesla with Florida tags is either being given away or sold off,” Doocy’s said on Fox. “Trump bought it during a Tesla demo on the South Lawn a few months to try and help Elon Musk’s business.”
Since the beginning of Trump’s second term, there have been numerous cases of vandalism targeting Tesla drivers, vehicles, dealerships and charging stations across America amid protests against Musk and his role in the administration.
Doocy addressed claims that Trump’s staffers were scheduling a phone call with Musk in an attempt to deescalate the feud, saying that was not something they were tracking. “It is possible that some staffers might try to talk to Musk, but no Trump and Musk call.”
Moreover, Trump himself is showing no interest in talking with Musk right now. “I’m not even thinking about Elon. He’s got a problem. The poor guy’s got a problem,” Trump said during a phone call with CNN. “No. I won’t be speaking to him for a while I guess, but I wish him well.” The response from the president came after Musk accused him on X of being in the Epstein files, explaining that this is “the real reason they have not been made public.”
Musk started to show signs of discontent on Tuesday when he angrily criticized the dubbed the “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” deeming it a “disgusting abomination” on X.
Trump responded Thursday to the tantrum saying on Truth Social that he would have preferred for Musk to criticize him personally instead of going after the spending package.
“I don’t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago. This is one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress,” Trump said. “It’s a Record Cut in Expenses, $1.6 Trillion Dollars, and the Biggest Tax Cut ever given. If this Bill doesn’t pass, there will be a 68% Tax Increase, and things far worse than that.”
Following the escalation of the feud, Tesla stock fell 4.2% Thursday to $284.70. This marks the 11th-worst single trading day for Tesla since the company went public in 2010.
