Bernie Sanders Blasted After Joining Antisemitic Conspiracists: ‘Sick And Hateful Old Man’

On Wednesday, hard-Left Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders was slammed after he joined the antisemites who posit that Israel determines American foreign policy.
Sanders targeted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu including Hamas, Hezbollah, and now the despotic anti-Israel regime in Iran. On Monday, Sanders introduced the “No War On Iran Act, and attacked Netanyahu again, snapping, “Netanyahu’s reckless and illegal attacks violate international law and risk igniting a regional war. Congress must make it clear that the United States will not be dragged into Netanyahu’s war of choice.”
“Netanyahu is not the President of the United States,” Sanders wrote on X on Wednesday. “He should not be determining U.S. foreign and military policy. If the people of Israel support his decision to start a war with Iran, that is their business and their war. The United States must not be a part of it.”

David Friedman, who was President Donald Trump’s U.S. Ambassador to Israel in his first term, savaged Sanders, responding, “You are a sick and hateful old man. Whatever Trump decides, it will be because he deems it best for America. Your completely false charge that Netanyahu is controlling America is a classic antisemitic trope whose only purpose is to foment resentment against Jews. Shame on you!”

“Iran started a war with the U.S. in 1979 and hasn’t stopped since,” Fox News commentator Katie Pavlich pointed out.

“Sorry Bernie maybe you missed the two massive waves of drone and missile attacks launched by Iran against Israel last year? But let’s not let simple facts get in the way of your foolish narratives,” Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) fired back.
Mosaic Magazine has noted:
When Sanders wanted to win the Democratic nomination in 2016, he claimed that Israel had killed over 10,000 innocent Palestinians, launched indiscriminate attacks in the Gaza Strip, and shelled hospitals in Gaza during Operation Protective Edge in 2014. The senator not only inflated the numbers by several orders of magnitude, he even outdid the Hamas spokespersons in creating a false narrative that the IDF was intentionally attacking the civilian population.
In February 2024, Sanders voted against a major foreign aid package to support Ukraine’s fight against Russia because he objected to the funding for Israel as it fought against Hamas. He said Netanyahu and Israel were fighting a “horrific war against the Palestinian people.”
