‘Crossing Of A Red Line’: Iran Hits Major Israeli Hospital With Direct Strike

An Iranian missile directly struck one of the major hospitals in Israel on Thursday morning.

The Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva, which is the only Level 1 trauma center in southern Israel, treats Jews, Arabs, and Bedouins. It serves more than 1.2 million residents, including 400,000+ children.

“We heard the siren, ran into the stairwell, and then there was a huge explosion… the ceiling literally flew off,” patients at the hospital told i24 news.

“The missile directly hit a ward that had been evacuated only hours earlier,” the Israeli Health Ministry stated. “The impact caused minor injuries and damaged parts of the emergency room and other buildings, but hospital operations continued,” J-Wire reported. “Soroka continues to function, and our teams are working in full coordination with the Home Front Command and security officials,” the ministry added.

“The missile launch at the Soroka Medical Center is an act of terrorism and a crossing of a red line. A war crime by the Iranian regime that was deliberately committed against innocent civilians and medical teams dedicated to saving lives,” Israel Health Minister Uriel Bosso stated.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reacted, “This morning, Iran’s terrorist tyrants launched missiles at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba and at a civilian population in the center of the country. We will exact the full price from the tyrants in Tehran.”

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz echoed on X, “The cowardly Iranian dictator sits in the depths of the fortified bunker and fires aimed shots at hospitals and residential buildings in Israel. These are war crimes of the most serious kind – and Khamenei will be held accountable for his crimes. The Prime Minister and I have instructed the IDF to increase the intensity of attacks against strategic targets in Iran and against government targets in Tehran in order to remove threats to the State of Israel and undermine the ayatollahs’ regime.”

“In moments like these, we are reminded of what’s truly at stake, and the values we are defending,” Israeli President Isaac Herzog said. “A baby in intensive care. A mother by their bedside. A doctor rushing between beds. An elderly resident in a nursing home. These were some of the targets of Iran’s missile attacks on Israeli civilians this morning.”

Meanwhile, a media outlet affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) — the deadly and repressive military right arm of the despotic Iranian theocratic government, which has been labeled a foreign terrorist organization (FTO) by the U.S. State Department — claimed that the Iranian missile strike on Soroka targeted a “medical building used by soldiers” in a “military hospital,” i24 noted.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
