David Hogg’s Sacrifice at the Altar of DEI Shows Why Democrats Are Losing Young Men

The rise and fall of left-wing media darling David Hogg demonstrates exactly what the Left is all about and why the Democratic Party is losing young men.

Hogg, a 25-year-old gun control activist turned pillow salesman (that’s probably inaccurate since he never actually sold any pillows) turned party organizer clearly aimed to be a mover and shaker in the Democratic Party’s present and future. In February, he was elected to be one of the chairs of the Democratic National Committee.

Hogg was clearly set to be their white, male Gen Z whisperer.

They already tried to use former vice-presidential nominee Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as a sock puppet who could, in his words, “code talk to White guys watching football, fixing their truck.”

That didn’t work out, so Democrats switched to a younger, even more non-threatening model who could appeal to the Y chromosome types without triggering the birthing people in their ranks.

The experiment didn’t last long.

Hogg’s career inevitably hit the rock of DEI that operates as both the quasi-religion of the modern Left as well as its elite gatekeeping tool.

After being elected as vice chair, Hogg took his role a little too seriously and tried to shake up the party. This makes sense after their catastrophic defeat in last year’s election and historic unpopularity.

Hogg announced his desire to fund primary challengers to some of the long-term House Democrats in safe districts who weren’t sufficiently anti-Trump. This ruffled the feathers of the powers that be.

How did Democratic Party powerbrokers solve this embarrassment and save face? They found a technicality to unseat him based on their old reliable trick: identity politics.

Oklahoma DNC member Kalyn Free lodged a complaint alleging the way Hogg and another male DNC chair won their elections unfairly disadvantaged and “discriminated against three women of color candidates.”

By the way, here is Free, who is described by corporate media as a Native American activist.

The DNC has gender diversity rules for their chair positions, of course. They’ve apparently concocted just the right alchemy that ensures their leaders perfectly reflect what America looks like. After considerable debate at the convention last year they decided that the chair positions must be evenly split between men and women with a seat open for a “non-binary” person.

Free argued, according to Deseret News, that “by running the vote for the two [chair] positions at the same time, with the requirement that at least one male candidate be chosen, it gave both male candidates a boost.”

Hogg eventually got the ax as did the other male DNC chair who seemed to get caught in the fray.

Could Democrats really have come up with a better scenario to demonstrate why young men—especially white men—are fleeing the party in droves?

Democrat kingmakers rather gleefully gave Hogg the DNC chair position so they could use him as window dressing and say that they really understand the young male voter.

They came to regret their Hogg selection when he actually started doing things, showing—dare I say it? male gumption—and challenged the party’s power structures.

When Hogg upset the apple cart just a bit, he was quickly reminded that the party is now dominated by HR girlbosses and as a white male, he’s at the top of the hierarchy of oppression.

At any moment, his race and gender can be used against him.

Walz survived during the presidential campaign by playing the amiable “knucklehead.” Hogg tried too hard to make a bigger name for himself and got nuked by DEI.

Maybe he learned a lesson from this, but who knows? After all, Tulsi Gabbard went from rising Democrat star to party pariah when she questioned the DNC and is now President Donald Trump’s Director of National Intelligence.

One thing is for certain, though, the Democratic Party continues to operate by 2020 Great Awokening rules, where everything is about racial and gender grievance, and identity quotas are ruthlessly enforced.

It’s like trying to survive as a Communist Party apparatchik in the old Soviet Union where your career could be derailed by an accusation that your grandfather was an industrialist and an enemy of the workers. A talented leader could be easily destroyed by a lazy lunkhead with the right background. Only the most vicious, ruthless liars who could navigate the system’s complicated power structure made it to the top.

Democrats have created something like that, but with race and gender identity replacing the old class dynamics.

Given that the Democratic Party has become the party of insiders, our elite institutions began adopting these rules too. Trump’s election in November was, among many things, a massive rebuke to a society that operates that way.

But Democrats haven’t really changed at all. This is what they are. Merit and talent mean very little, identity is everything, and anyone who tries to break out of this box is liable to be ruthlessly purged. Hogg’s sacrifice at the altar of DEI demonstrates exactly what the Left is all about, lest it be forgotten.
