EXCLUSIVE: New SBA Database Aims to Boost Supply Chains to ‘Make Onshoring Great Again’

FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—The Trump administration has launched a new tool to help small businesses identify American manufacturers and producers.

Small Business Administration chief Kelly Loeffler on Tuesday announced a “Make Onshoring Great Again” portal, which will feature a database of more than 1 million American suppliers.

“The SBA is proud to support President Donald J. Trump’s mission to restore America’s economic resurgence by empowering small businesses with the resources to supercharge the return of Made in America,” Loeffler said in a statement shared with The Daily Signal.

The portal will help business owners connect with domestic suppliers, supporting American jobs, and reconnect the supply chain with U.S.-based production, helping end the nation’s dependence on foreign suppliers, including adversaries, such as China, according to the Small Business Administration.

“The Make Onshoring Great Again portal will give job creators a direct line to more than 1 million domestic suppliers—replacing foreign dependence with access to American-made solutions,” Loeffler said. “It’s a decisive step toward rebuilding our nation’s strength through stronger supply chains, better products, and a renewed commitment to American industry, small business, and workers.”

The SBA partnered with several private-sector cosponsors to provide public access to three free databases. The portal builds on SBA’s “Made in America Manufacturing Initiative,” which is aimed at expanding access to capital for U.S. manufacturers, promoting a skilled workforce, and cutting $100 billion in red tape.

Last month, Trump’s Small Business Administration announced an almost 75% surge in loans to small manufacturers.

Trump announced reciprocal tariffs on U.S. trading partners on April 7, a date he termed “Liberation Day.” In the ensuing weeks, Democrat lawmakers have claimed tariffs “are putting small businesses in an impossible position.”

But manufacturing has been on the “rebound” since Trump took office, “boosted by his pro-business agenda—including tax cuts, deregulation, energy independence and tariffs,” according to an SBA press release previewed by The Daily Signal.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
