The Feds Are Finally Investigating a Massive Medical Scandal. Here’s How You Can Help.

Would you rather have a living son or a dead daughter?
Doctors often present this Sophie’s choice to parents when their daughters suffer with gender confusion. If your teenage or pre-teen girl is uncomfortable with puberty or has been hoodwinked by transgender culture, the medical establishment is all to happy to prescribe “gender-affirming care” that will stunt her growth, make her develop masculine features, and set her on the path to permanent sterility.
To call this a medical scandal would be a vast understatement. Industry-wide deceptive practices likely to cause injury to consumers seems a bit closer to the mark.
Thankfully, federal law bans “unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce,” and the Federal Trade Commission is taking a serious look at whether “gender-affirming care” violates Sections 5 and 12 of the FTC Act.
Last month, the FTC hosted a workshop on “The Dangers of Gender-Affirming Care for Minors,” featuring witnesses who had been harmed by the experimental interventions, medical whistleblowers who raised alarms about these practices, and parents whose children were brainwashed at school.
In order to act against deceptive practices, the FTC must prove that they mislead the customer, “either through commission—for example, making a false or misleading claim; or through omission—for example, failing to disclose certain information that would support the claim from being misleading to the reasonable consumer,” FTC Commissioner Mark Meador told The Daily Signal.
Prisha Mosley, a 27-year-old woman who suffered at the hands of the transgender medical industrial complex when she was a minor, summed up the horrific practice perfectly in remarks at the workshop.
“I didn’t understand what was being taken away from me when I gave consent,” she said of her transition. “I was too young, and I was not being given accurate medical information. My consent was stolen.”
What Is ‘Gender-Affirming Care?’
“Gender-affirming care” refers to medical interventions to make a man appear female or vice versa, if the person has been diagnosed with “gender dysphoria,” the painful and persistent state of identifying with the gender opposite one’s biological sex. The World Professional Association for Transgender Health, an activist group, has claimed these interventions improve mental health outcomes and prevent suicide, yet an increasing amount of evidence highlights the dangers of these “treatments.”
There are roughly four stages of “gender-affirming care,” and none come without risks.
When a child claims to identify as the opposite sex, many schools will engage in “social transition,” the process of publicly referring to a boy with a feminine name and feminine pronouns, or vice versa. While activists claim this is harmless, psychiatrist Dr. Stephen B. Levine, a former member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, said even social transition “is a powerful psychotherapeutic intervention that radically changes outcomes,” making young people less likely to identify with their sex.
Some doctors will recommend “puberty blockers,” drugs that activists claim will stall puberty. During the previous administration, an FDA analyst noted that a study found “increased risk of depression and suicidality,” another term for suicidal thoughts, after minors took these drugs. She nonetheless urged her colleagues to approve the drugs. The FDA has not approved these drugs for gender dysphoria, though some states require sex offenders to take them as a form of “chemical castration.”
After puberty, patients may take cross-sex hormones, to alter their chemical makeup and make them appear more like the opposite sex. Some studies have revealed a long list of side effects for men who take estrogen, for example. An analysis of systematic reviews showed increased risks of cancer, blood clots, and death, among other side effects.
Finally, some patients undergo surgery to remove healthy body parts and replace them with facsimiles of the organs of the opposite sex. These grotesque procedures often sterilize patients, and they can create long-term health issues. Some procedures involve taking tissue from other body parts, such as the colon.
As these side effects become better known, U.S. states and European countries have cracked down on “gender-affirming care” for minors, and now the federal government is finally following suit.
The FTC’s Investigation
If a doctor has recommended “gender-affirming care” for you or for a member of your family, the FTC would love to hear about it. Did the doctor or nurse go through the potential side effects of these interventions? Did the doctor or nurse promise that the interventions will improve your quality of life? These statements may be incomplete or misleading.
The agency launched a “request for information” Monday, seeking public input on the issue. To weigh in, just go to this Regulations.gov link and click the blue “comment” button.
It is essential for Americans to report if they’ve been lied to. The medical industry must stop promoting as “gender-affirming care” these Frankensteinian attempts to erase biological sex.
