‘A Car Plowed’? NYT Shredded For Sanitizing Muslim Terrorist Attack

The New York Times was savagely mocked for refusing to describe an Islamist attacker at a Berlin Pride event on Saturday who rammed his van into Tiergarten Park, killing one woman and injuring at least 29 others before he assaulted festivalgoers with what may have been a machete.

Online critics unloaded on the leftist outlet after it posted a whitewashed social media update about the deadly terror rampage. The paper’s bloodless bulletin on X casually reported that a “car plowed through a park” — completely ignoring the extremist monster behind the wheel and treating a deliberate, violent assault like a runaway vehicle accident.

X users immediately slapped the paper with a harsh Community Note, pointing out the crucial facts the Left-leaning outlet conveniently left out: the vehicle was driven by a radical zealot with a deep rap sheet and known ties to violent extremism.

“Hard to believe that the car got a mind of its own and plowed through the people. I also heard a knife stabbed someone this weekend in Chicago,” another person commented. “Headlines like this continue to decimate trust in the mainstream media. Awful…simply awful reporting.”

The actual story behind the media fail is far more chilling. German authorities launched an intense manhunt for 21-year-old Abdul Ballout after he weaponized the white van.

Officials swiftly raised the national threat level while warning of potential copycat violence. The manhunt eventually came to a lethal end in Berlin’s Spandau district, where law enforcement officers tracked down Ballout and shot him dead.

It turns out Ballout was a walking red flag whom European authorities knew all too well. Born in Germany to a Lebanese mother, the young fanatic was a familiar face to local law enforcement for his deep ties to the city’s extremist underworld. Even worse, he was a convicted terrorist who had previously been snagged in Lebanon while attempting to cross into Syria to join the Islamic State.

After returning to German soil, he received a light slap on the wrist — sentenced to less than two years behind bars for plotting a major act of violence against the state. Prosecutors had begged for a longer stay behind bars, but the system let him walk free just months before he unleashed horror in the park.

Political figures across the globe slammed the attack, with critics pointing to the tragic incident as a grim wake-up call regarding the dangerous blind spots of Western political correctness.
