Actress Hulks Out Over Celebrities Who Don’t Get Political

“She-Hulk” actress Tatiana Maslany is angry at other stars who refuse to divulge the details of their politics, claiming, “All entertainment is political.”

The 41-year-old Canadian star made her opinions known earlier this week while speaking with far-Left commentator Mehdi Hasan for an episode of the “We’re Not Kidding” podcast.

“Artists are like mirrors to the world, to society,” Maslany said. “We have to name things … it’s, like, such an important, intrinsic part of our job.”

Hasan mentioned “Magnum P.I.” actor Tom Selleck as one Hollywood figure who refused to speak about President Donald Trump. He recalled how Selleck was called out as “not one of these celebs who’s slammed Trump.” Selleck replied, “Look, I don’t dabble in politics because I don’t understand why you want to piss off half the country if your job is entertaining the country.”

Hasan went on to reiterate the Michael Jordan quote, “Republicans buy sneakers, too.” But Maslany insisted these celebs should be speaking out too.

“But, all of it is political, like, everything is political,” the actress said. “All entertainment is political, because it has a viewpoint, and it has a perspective. It has visual representation of the world we live in or the kinds of things that are funny or acceptable.”

“There’s no disconnect, in my mind,” Maslany went on. “And, to me, those are two very rich men who stand to lose a lot if they stand up for something. Art should destabilize people too.”

“I mean, I’m not thinking Tom Selleck is going, like, ‘Magnum, P.I. should …’” Maslany said with a laugh, adding that it would “‘really, really disturb people on a core level.’”

“But, like, art moves people,” she concluded. “Whether that’s in, like, a shock way, a laughter way, all of it. It’s a communication with the world.”

“It’s such a bizarre mentality. It’s so cowardly,” the actress said of Selleck’s and Jordan’s approach to politics. 

Maslany also told Hasan that she is “totally against” the Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger because she predicts it will be “limiting the kinds of voices we can hear from” in entertainment.

“It’s going to make all the output that we have, any content that we create, go through a filter of this sort of conservative ideology or be gatekept in a way that we can’t make shows that say anything about the current administration, even in a veiled way,” she said, ignoring the fact that the leftist worldview has dominated the industry for decades.

“I’ve heard of shows being canceled for that very reason,” Maslany went on. “It’s also just, like, limiting, limiting, limiting, like, the kinds of voices we can hear from. All of that. All of that stuff.”

The pro-feminist Marvel project “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law” was an abysmal, laughable flop when it debuted in 2022. The TV show starring Maslany aired for nine episodes.
