Mitte’s death, reported by entertainment site TMZ and confirmed by a county official, was living in Brownsville, Texas, at the time of his death. The actor, according to that report, died by suicide. An investigation into his death is still ongoing.
Mitte played Walter White Jr. on the popular TV show, appearing in 56 episodes of the show that also starred “Malcolm in the Middle” alum Bryan Cranston. He also appeared in “The Oak Room” and “The Recall.”
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte,” a representative for Mitte said in a statement shared with Variety. “Drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy, Mitte brought authenticity to the role and built a platform on disability awareness and inclusion.”
