California authorities search for 2 children allegedly abducted by father, fear for their safety
Authorities in California are searching for two 9-year-old children who investigators say were abducted by their father this week, warning there is concern for their well-being.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help locating Solomon and Marozhina Sukonick, who investigators say were taken by their father, David Sukonick, on Thursday.
According to authorities, the children were last seen around 8 p.m. near the 1000 block of West Avenue J-8 in Lancaster.
The sheriff's department said in a news release there is "concern for their well-being," urging anyone with information to come forward.
Investigators said the children were last seen traveling in a black 2011 Lincoln Town Car with California license plate SOLOYST.
Marozhina is described as a 9-year-old White girl who stands 4 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 90 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing pink shorts and a white shirt.
Solomon, also 9, is described as a white boy who stands 4 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 90 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing blue shorts and an unknown-colored shirt.
David Sukonick is described as a 71-year-old white man who stands 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs about 135 pounds and has brown hair and green eyes.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department at 661-940-3855.

According to the New York Post, David Sukonick shared a photo of the children on Facebook on July 13. One commenter questioned whether the children were OK, writing that they looked "miserable."

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy.
