During Monday’s episode of “The Tony Kinnett Cast,” the Daily Signal’s Tony Kinnett spoke with Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., whom he called a “conservative juggernaut” and one to watch.

Many important topics were discussed during the program.
Gerrymandering and Black Representation in Congress
According to Scott, the Democrats’ narrative about redistricting and race rings hollow.
“According to Democrats, I’m not black because I’m a Republican, and they want to talk about redistricting,” said Scott, who also has served in the U.S. House. He was the first black Republican to represent the state in both the House and the Senate, and the first African American elected to the Senate from a southern state since Reconstruction.
Scott noted he was able to win in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District and statewide. “So, what we know for sure is that voters throughout the South and at home in South Carolina are more concerned with your values than how much melanin you have in your skin,” he said.
Democrats Running for Senate
Democrats have a wild bunch of candidates this year, including James Talarico in Texas and Graham Platner in Maine.
“When you have a candidate as out of step and inconsistent with reality as Talarico, you’ve got to ask yourself, what in the world are the Democrats thinking,” Scott said. “Well, the answer is simple. They’re thinking about rebranding the entire party under the umbrella of Talarico and Platner.”
As Scott sees it, Democrats are providing an opportunity for the Republican Party to expand because “they are losing their voters, because they’ve lost their ever-loving mind.”
On the eve of Maine’s primary, Kinnett wondered if Democrats will “carry Platner to the finish,” or if they’ll swap him out as they did with former President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, something Scott thinks is a possibility.
Scott also mentioned Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., arguing he “has decided to lean in heavily with Platner because the Democrat Party doesn’t care what you believe.”
“All they want is power—this has been their insatiable desire for decades. Now their candidate selection tells me that not only are they out of step with reality and their voters, but they’re so desperate for power that they’ll bring forward the most provocative, disgusting candidate they can find and hope to … deceive the voter long enough to get across the finish line,” Scott emphasized.
Fraud
News driving the day has been fraud, which Scott accused Democrats of allowing to happen.
Scott called the fraud in Minnesota, California, New York, and Illinois “really disturbing.” Minnesota is particularly noteworthy for having the highest concentration of Somalis.
“In some states, 22% of benefits that go to help people are used for fraud,” Scott said, putting the numbers into perspective.
“It makes me nauseous to know that we are allowing some states to run rampant with fraud,” Scott continued, criticizing blue states for how “they allow for lying, cheating, and stealing from the most vulnerable people in their state.”
The senator sent letters to California and New York to highlight the nationwide fraud totaling about $187 billion a year. “Freaking fraud! I don’t understand how these states aren’t livid,” Scott exclaimed. “The citizens need to be informed on how bad and pathetic their leaders are.”
The senator referenced not only Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, but also California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who may run for president in 2028. Newsom, Scott argued, “condones fraud” because “he wants to keep it quiet enough so he can finish a presidential run.”
