Dad Hauled Into Corporate After Kid Secretly Racks Up Six Figure Charge On Company Card

A father took over his nine-year-old son’s YouTube channel to tell followers that the boy allegedly spent $118,000 on his company credit card to promote Minecraft and Roblox videos before his employer alerted him to the charges.

The father, Dave, explained what happened in a video uploaded to his son’s Mighty Mike Plays YouTube channel.

The disappointed dad explained how he helped his son Mike create a $20 YouTube ad campaign after he failed to attract viewers and subscribers. Dave explained how he showed his son how to set up the campaign and market his channel.

Unfortunately for him, Dave’s company credit card was connected to the same Google account that Mike then used to create even more ad campaigns without his dad’s help or knowledge. 

“He didn’t really register that was supposed to be some kind of limit in his head,” Dave said in the video. “The logic was simple, I guess. More money, more views.”

His father went on to describe the surprise meeting he was called into that included his manager, corporate representatives, and finance staff. They told Dave his card was charged $118,000 over the course of three weeks and asked him to account for the spending.  

At the time of the recording, Dave said it was unclear if he’d be allowed to keep his job. He told followers he doesn’t believe Mike understood the consequences of his actions and admitted it was his fault for having the card linked to his Google account in the first place.

Dave concluded by saying that the Mighty Mike Plays channel could be put on pause for now as the family deals with the fallout. He consulted Mike to weigh in, asking if the boy has anything to say to followers, which prompted the boy to reply, “I’m definitely cooked.”

The incident has not been verified and could be another clever way to drum up views for the channel, but commenters are having some fun in the meantime.

“You have no idea how forgiving your father is,” a third person wrote.

The video titled “Message from Dad…Mighty Mike Plays is Over” is currently trending with more than 440,000 views since being posted yesterday.
