Eric Trump Jokes About How Far His Dad Has Come: ‘A Year Ago He Was Serving French Fries’

Eric Trump joked about how far his father has come in just the last year, noting that one year ago — while on the campaign trail — he’d been serving up french fries at a McDonald’s drive-through.

Trump joined Newsmax host Greta Van Susteren on Monday, just hours after a peace deal brokered by his father had resulted in the release of the last 20 Israeli hostages who had been held in Gaza by Hamas terrorists since their abduction on October 7, 2023.

“It’s just amazing,” Van Susteren said of the deal, noting that President Trump appeared to be “saving the world,” one peace deal at a time.

“He’s saving the world, and that’s after everything they did to us, Greta,” the younger Trump agreed, recalling the many attacks that his father had sustained on his road back to the White House. “He’s literally saving the world, as you said, I mean a year ago he was serving french fries and now he’s commander in chief who just got Middle East peace.”

“[He’s] stopped, what, eight wars at this point and is doing a phenomenal job,” he continued. “Listen, the entire world is proud, and you know it’s amazing, you talk about this Nobel Peace Prize thing, every single leader of every single country is coming out saying that he should get it. You know, in most conflicts, somebody wins, somebody loses, you’ve got a victor, you’ve got kind of a loser of that conflict, whether right or wrong. Somebody’s upset – here, everybody’s happy.”

“Everybody wants peace, the whole world wants peace, they’re all rallying behind this,” Trump added, noting that it was not just Israel celebrating the end of the bloodshed in Gaza. “This is exactly why Donald Trump got elected, this is exactly what the American people want. This is exactly what the world wants, and as a son, I’m incredibly proud of him.”
