Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman and the statewide GOP ticket blasted New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s push to dramatically increase the inheritance tax that would hit the middle class — and proposed a plan Monday to stop it. The democratic socialist proposed slashing New York’s estate tax exemption from $7.35 million to $750,000, while tripling the top rate to a 50%, to help plug a projected $5.4 billion city budget deficit. I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire.
