EXCLUSIVE: Trump Drops The Hammer On Communism As Radical Dems Eye Congress

WASHINGTON— As Americans head to the polls to vote for candidates across the nation, President Donald Trump signed a proclamation Tuesday taking a strong stand against communism in the United States.

The proclamation, first reported by The Daily Wire, declares November 1 through November 7 as Anti-Communism Week, calling upon all Americans to “stand firm in their defense” to threats against the American way of life and to “protect our burning flame of liberty from the darkness of communism.”

It also warns that “for more than a century, human freedom has been threatened by communist and socialist ideologies that eliminate individual opportunity, subjugate individuals to the state, and extinguish the God-given rights upon which free nations are built.”

“This Anti-Communism Week, we are reminded of the devastating consequences of state control over human thought, creativity, and political expression, resulting in suffering, poverty, exploitation, violence, and misery for millions, and we renew our commitment to protect the sacred values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness from the chains of tyranny,” the proclamation reads.

Trump also signed the same proclamation in 2025 and messaged on the topic in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. This year’s proclamation holds particular significance, however, since the president is signing it on the day of the 2026 midterm elections — elections in which a number of openly socialist and communist candidates are running.

“The Democrats’ full-blown embrace of socialism and communism is an existential threat to our nation as these radicals proudly pledge to abolish prisons, open the borders, and defund the police,” White House spokeswoman Olivia Wales told The Daily Wire.

“These values are fundamentally un-American,” she added. “President Trump will never let America become a communist country and will always defend the God-given rights upon which our proud nation was built.”

This year’s elections feature numerous candidates who are either affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America or backed by the group. That includes Claire Valdez of New York, who is running for an open congressional seat, Darializa Avila Chevalier, also of New York and a former organizer for Zohran Mamdani, Melat Kiros of Colorado, Donavan McKinney of Michigan, and Chris Rabb of Pennsylvania.

Michigan Democrat candidate Abdul El Sayed also has close relationships with the Democratic Socialists of America, though he has denied being a socialist or a member of the DSA. He has spoken at multiple of their events and received support from top socialists like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Tuesday’s proclamation promises that under Trump’s leadership, “America will never fall victim to these evil ideologies, and the United States will never become a communist country.”

“The story of America is, above all, a story of a Nation uniting as one, standing up to tyranny, and charting its own destiny as a free and self-governing Republic,” it states.
