FBI Director to Reveal Results of Months-Long Crime Reduction Effort

FBI Director Kash Patel will provide an update Wednesday afternoon on the Trump administration’s progress in reducing violent crime across the country, a White House official told The Daily Signal.
President Donald Trump and Patel are holding a press conference at the White House at 3 p.m. Wednesday amid the administration’s nationwide crime crackdown.
Trump has deployed National Guard to cities including Washington, D.C.; Memphis, Tennessee; Portland, Oregon; and Chicago, Illinois.
He has also signed a memorandum last month directing an “all-of-government effort to dismantle left-wing terrorism” and Antifa.
The memo directed the National Joint Terrorism Task Force and its local offices to “coordinate and supervise a comprehensive national strategy to investigate, prosecute, and disrupt entities and individuals engaged in acts of political violence and intimidation and designed to suppress lawful political activity or obstruct the rule of law.”
In July, Trump ordered officials to use “whatever means is necessary” to arrest anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement rioters who commit crimes.
In Washington, D.C., as of Sept. 29, federal and local law enforcement officials reported making more than 3,550 arrests. Nearly 1,400 of those arrests were by ICE, CBS News reported.
The now 15-day long federal government shutdown has not slowed the Trump administration’s mission to stop crime on American streets. Law enforcement and National Guard members have continued to work unpaid since Senate Democrats have refused to pass a clean continuing resolution to fund the federal government. They will receive backpay when the government reopens.
Trump has said “desperate” left-wing criminals threaten American streets. “We’ve watched legions of far-left radicals resort to desperate acts of violence and terror because they know that their ideas and arguments are persuading no one,” he asserted. “They know that they’re failing. They have the Devil’s ideology.”
