Fox News host Dana Perino tore into Democrat Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed on Sunday, mocking him for trying to dictate which questions he’d allow the press to ask.

Perino, who served as White House press secretary for former President George W. Bush, weighed in on the situation early Sunday afternoon, just hours after El-Sayed’s opponent in the Democrat primary — Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) — announced her endorsement of his opponent in the general election, former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI).

The conversation began with the ad that had started the firestorm — an ad made by Rebellion PAC that blamed the American affordability crisis on U.S. funding for Israel — and the fact that El-Sayed had never outright condemned it. That had been a sticking point for Stevens, who has always described herself as a non-Jewish Zionist.

“Even his — the spokespeople on El-Sayed’s campaign said, ‘Oh, he condemned it,’ but he wouldn’t,” Perino said. “And it is so insulting. Everybody should absolutely condemn that, and what was really crazy is you had people on the Democratic side of things even after that ad came out saying that Jews in Michigan have a moral obligation to vote for El-Sayed.”

Perino went on to say that the reaction to Stevens — from a number of Democrats — had been to accuse her of betraying the party ahead of the general election on Tuesday.

“‘How could she ever look at Barack Obama again?'” she quoted some as saying, adding, “And I think no, the difference here is that she was willing to say, ‘I am not going to just sit here and take it. All of you expect me to just be called an idiot.'”

Perino then argued that El-Sayed’s failure to condemn the ad was “intentional” on his part, and predicted that he was “going to have to pay for it.”

“I also love this whole thing of, like, he loves America so much then and he tells every reporter sitting there like, ‘You’re not allowed to ask about this.’ That’s not how it works,” she added. “He answers every question with a question.”

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
