Former Fox News Producer Found Dead

Former Fox News producer Jennifer Eckhart has been discovered dead in what’s being ruled a suicide.

Eckhart, 36, was discovered deceased inside her Florida home on Saturday morning, according to a Martin County Sheriff’s Office incident report, as TMZ first reported. A spokesperson for the office confirmed that Eckhart died by suicide. 

Investigators said her family and friends were trying to help her, but she had been in and out of mental health facilities. She had reportedly stopped taking her medications, as a local Florida ABC affiliate reported.

The former Fox Business employee worked at the network for seven years, rising to associate producer. She accused Ed Henry, then an anchor at sister network Fox News, of rape in 2020, but Henry denied the allegations, saying their sexual relationship was consensual.

Fox News fired Henry on July 1, 2020, following an outside investigation into Eckhart’s allegations. She was publicly identified as his accuser when she filed suit about three weeks later, claiming she had been “violently raped” and left “injured, bruised and battered with bloody wrists,” per People.

She made claims that Henry asked her to be his “sex slave” and then “threatened punishment and retaliation if [Eckhart] didn’t comply with his sexual demands,” and took photos of her as a form of “blackmail that could destroy her career.”

Eckhart filed a lawsuit against Henry and Fox News, though the network was dismissed as a defendant. The case was settled in 2025 shortly before it was scheduled to go to trial.

“This has been an exhaustive, retraumatizing, five-year legal battle with incredible challenges that at times I almost felt was unable to bear,” Eckhart told People at the time. “With this settlement in place, a weight has now been lifted from my shoulders and my passion to support fellow trauma survivors has been renewed.”

The former Fox employee last posted on her Instagram account on June 1. “Haven’t posted since the last time gas was under $4. What a time to be alive,” she wrote. “Glad to be sharing this weird little corner of the Internet again. Working on some exciting stuff that I can’t wait to share with you all!”
