Judge William Sullivan brought jurors back into the courtroom and had them swear under oath, one by one, that they would follow instructions when deliberating and reaching their verdict. After all jurors did that, Judge Sullivan directed them to continue deliberations.

An angry-looking Kevin Reddington, Clancy’s defense lawyer, then was allowed to speak before the court. He suggested a single juror be replaced because they were not following the law when it comes to the standard of reasonable doubt. That state said they had no issues with the judge’s instructions.

Ultimately, Judge Sullivan signaled against Reddington and said he would not “side” with the single juror or the other eleven, and therefore deliberations will continue.

Clancy is on trial for killing her three young children. She does not dispute killing them, but is leaning on what’s commonly called the insanity defense, arguing that she was suffering postpartum psychosis at the time she killed them.

Jurors have been deliberating for about 35 hours, and twice they have sent a note to the judge saying they are deadlocked.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
