Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Tehran’s chief negotiator, claimed Americans delivered a message against the war with Iran, which began in February.

“Conscience or the cost of living, Americans said NO TO WAR, and we endorse this message,” Qalibaf wrote on X Wednesday. “If the US govt betrays their public will to serve international paymasters and blackmailers, it will learn our NO comes with a Nightmare.”

Iranian judiciary chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei also celebrated the results, declaring President Donald Trump a loser in “both war and politics.”

“Trump was defeated both in war and in politics,” he said. “We will certainly inflict more defeats on him. This is only the dawn of what is to come.”

The Tehran Times, an English-language newspaper based in Iran and aligned with the Islamic regime, ran the headline “Operation Midterms Hammer,” a play on the U.S. military operation against Iran’s nuclear facilities. The publication blamed Republicans’ electoral losses on Trump.

Other Iranian publications joined the celebration. Hamshahri, a newspaper affiliated with Tehran’s municipality, featured a blindfolded Trump on its front page beneath the headline “Iran’s shadow over U.S. elections.”

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said that conflict would continue regardless of which political party controlled Washington. In a letter shared on his social media account, Khamenei, who hasn’t been seen publicly since the war began in late February, wrote, “If there are still those who harbor even a slight hope for a change in behavior or partisan and factional shifts within the system of domination, or who imagine that by giving concessions to America they can dissuade it from hostility toward the Iranian nation, they are gravely mistaken.”

The celebrations came alongside a chilling, though routine, threat against Trump. On Tuesday, Iranian authorities unveiled a massive billboard in Tehran’s Enghelab Square depicting the president behind bars beneath the words “We will kill Trump.”

Additional banners portrayed Trump, Vice President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with bloodied faces against burning American and Israeli flags.

The celebratory rhetoric comes as Tehran remains on alert for the possibility Trump could resume military operations following the Republican losses.

China reacted to the Democrats’ big night by casting the elections as “an internal affair of the United States,” according to a foreign ministry spokeswoman.

In Russia, state-run newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta suggested the Republican defeat could ultimately hurt Ukraine, warning European leaders, “Brussels, brace yourself. After the Republicans’ defeat, Trump’s wrath will fall on Europe.”

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
