The brother of the lone juror who refused to find Lindsay Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity has spoken out and revealed that his brother is a Haitian immigrant, throwing yet another hurdle in front of leftists who have sought to demonize the holdout juror.

He also defended his sibling’s decision, pushing back against online claims that he did not follow jury instructions or was biased. The brother told the New York Post that the juror simply did what he was supposed to do: listen to the evidence and make his own decision.

“He looked at the case, and he made the call,” the brother said. “For me, that’s how I would do it. I would just listen to the case with all the evidence, and go from there.”

“His choice was good for some people, but not good for other people,” he added.

The juror, who has remained anonymous, stood alone during deliberations in Clancy’s closely watched triple-murder trial, refusing to join the other 11 jurors in finding the mother not guilty by reason of insanity after she admitted to killing her three young children in January 2023. Since the mistrial on September 4, fellow female jurors have publicly trashed him as “arrogant” and complained that he refused to listen to jurors on the panel who were nurses.

The brother revealed that the juror comes from a devoutly Catholic Haitian immigrant family, which the brother said has been relentlessly targeted by true-crime followers and reporters since news broke that the juror had refused to go along with the other members of the panel.

“My family cannot leave the house,” he said. “They are leaving notes at my mother’s house. They won’t leave us alone and we don’t know anything. People have been calling me like crazy. It’s crazy.”

The brother also rejected speculation that the juror’s Catholic faith played a role in his decision, or that he refused to follow jury instructions. “I don’t think religion had anything to do with it,” he said.

Last week, fellow juror Paula Devlin revealed that the lone juror was a black male, the only minority on the panel.

The holdout juror apparently never spoke to his family about the case, and didn’t even reveal that he was serving on the Clancy jury. “We didn’t know. That’s why I was shocked,” the brother said. “He didn’t tell us anything.”

The juror’s background has been doxxed online, and some have commented on his alleged criminal history, including accusations of domestic violence. However, others who know the juror describe him as a quiet, generous, church-going man.

“He is a really nice guy,” said the owner of a local garage where the juror takes his car for repairs and regularly buys gas. “He goes to church.”

“He paid for a lady the other day who couldn’t pay her gas,” the owner recalled. “She said, ‘I can’t pay.’ And he went right over and paid her bill.”

The juror was recently married, he revealed. “His wife — they just got married — came by yesterday and asked me to put new wheels on her car,” the owner said. “She said the media has been crazy and they’re gonna lay low for a while.”

Clancy has admitted to killing her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan — by strangling them one at a time with exercise bands in the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. She sought to avoid criminal responsibility for the killings at trial by relying on what’s commonly referred to as the insanity defense.

The former labor and delivery nurse is currently being held at Tewksbury Hospital, a state-run psychiatric facility in Massachusetts, where she’s been in custody since 2023. It remains unclear whether the state will decide to retry Clancy for the killings.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
