Midterms: Closing Argument

Heading into Election Day on Tuesday, here are the four most important reasons to vote for patriotic populist candidates:

Sovereignty

After America endured the madness of the open border of former President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance brought sanity back to migration policies and enforcement. According to DHS, we’ve now seen the lowest annual encounters in American history and the first-ever fiscal year with zero Border Patrol releases. 

Not only is the border secure, but even legal immigration to the United States faces far tougher scrutiny. 

Tighter scrutiny of legal immigration, a very important new policy, earned the ire of leftist propaganda outlets like the New York Times, with a headline and article bemoaning that “Legal Immigration Fell Sharply Under Trump.” Of course, the president and all who subscribe to a populist nationalist agenda that prioritizes our citizens, first and always, should wear the scorn of the NYT as a badge of honor.

Our movement earned a national popular vote triumph in 2024 with border security as the foundational promise, then delivered on that pledge. Now is no time to retreat into porous-border chaos, which remains the ardent aim of the extremist Democrat candidates in the ballot across the country.

Security

Public safety is inextricably linked to immigration, of course, and every single crime committed by an illegal alien is 100% preventable. But even beyond immigration, the national decline in crime during  Trump’s term has been truly historic. The progress is especially marked in the jurisdictions that openly cooperate with the Trump administration and federal law enforcement.

Specifically, the FBI reports that violent crime plunged under Trump at the fastest rate in the nearly 90 years the bureau has collected such statistics. It is difficult to exaggerate the economic, social, and psychological benefits of public safety for America’s citizens.

Given these incredible advances, a return to the lawless, defund-the-police radicalism of the Democrats is an unthinkable alternative.

Normalcy

The most prominent Democrat nominees are not just polarizing and ideologically extreme. They’re also just plain strange. James Talarico, for instance, insists on constantly talking about sex issues with other people’s children. Abdul El-Sayed constantly posts super cringe dance and singing videos.

Don’t we want leaders who love our country and would fit right in at our family barbecue, game watch, or church picnic? Democrat weirdos like Troy Jackson, who fathered two sons with his reported second cousin, would be misfits at just about any social gathering of normal Americans.

Common sense must prevail, not toxic cultural Marxism. We will not pretend that there are dozens of sexes, nor will we worship some pagan god of “multiculturalism.” We love our country, cherish traditions, and accept the realities of human existence, including God-ordained sex roles.

Prosperity 

Admittedly, the economy is the trickiest point. The misguided and costly war of choice in the Middle East arrested what was an incredibly bullish economic trajectory for workers across our land. Trump was proving, just like in his first term, that his economic agenda leads to sustained gains in real wages, meaning pay adjusted for inflation.

This trend formed a stark divergence from the Biden malaise, in which real wages declined for two years straight in 2022 and 2023, the longest such stretch in recorded history.

But the Iran intervention mistake spiked prices and depressed spirits. Still, this war will not last forever. Post-election, the mullahs in Tehran lose their leverage over the U.S. domestic political scene, and a deal seems imminent.

Then, we can return to the more typical Trump America First economic agenda of rising standards of living and Main Street prosperity.

As proof that the agenda still works, even with the recent temporary price spikes, manufacturing continues a “quiet boom” in America right now, with production galloping higher and onshoring accelerating. The long-term benefits of making things in America, again, will be profound.

Regarding this binary election choice, my recent poll of battleground Arizona revealed that even economically-anxious voters do not believe they would be better off if Kamala Harris had been elected. The Democrats offer nothing besides an anti-Trump obsession, and their policies would quickly return us to the Bidenomics nightmare of generationally high inflation.

Taken together, these four reasons form a powerful case for supporting conservative, America First candidates this midterm cycle. There are valid, evidence-based reasons to project that 2027 and beyond can be fantastic years for our country, and for our movement.
