Mom Who Confessed To Killing Toddler And Husband Had A Twisted Final Wish

Police arrested a 27-year-old woman after they said she stabbed her husband and 3-year-old son to death at a resort in northeastern Pennsylvania. 

Officers with the Pocono Township Police Department detained 27-year-old Metallica Harrison on Monday after they arrived at the Great Wolf Lodge in Monroe County and found her husband Charles and 3-year-old son brutally stabbed to death in their room. Police came to the lodge after they said Harrison placed a suicidal phone call to 911. They recovered two butcher knives from the scene and found Harrison with multiple cut wounds. 

A police affidavit obtained by WGAL said that Harrison called police Monday afternoon and told them that she needed “help dying” and was “unable to find a vein in her neck to stab.” Harrison added that “she wanted to be with her husband and son,” according to the affidavit. 

“That’s what I’ve been using, and it’s not working,” when asked if she had any knives or weapons, according to the affidavit. 

“My husband and son are already gone in the bed in the living room,” Harrison told the dispatcher, according to the affidavit. “They’re already gone. I’m sorry.” 

Harrison later reportedly admitted that she “f*cked up.”

“Every day, I work so hard. To be the best person, the best mother, the best wife,” she said, according to the affidavit. “It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child.”

Harrison has been charged with two counts of murder. A lawyer for Harrison, who was taken to the hospital after police arrived at Great Wolf Lodge, could not be immediately identified.

Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso said that the case appeared to be an isolated incident of domestic violence. 

“There’s no threat to public safety, that this was a violent domestic tragedy,” he said during a press conference. “This was a contained thing. The violence, although extreme, all took place within the confines of that room and involved close family members.”

When asked about motive, Mancuso said “that’s one of the most perplexing questions.”

Wolf Lodge, a popular family-friendly resort and waterpark, said it would cooperate with law enforcement for the investigation. 

“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by a tragic domestic incident that occurred yesterday in a guest room at our resort in the Pocono Mountains,” the resort said. “It was an isolated family incident, and we’re cooperating fully with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those affected.”
