Publisher Blasts Ossoff’s Stance Toward Israel in Letter

In an open letter to Democrat Jon Ossoff published on Wednesday, Michael Morris of Atlanta Jewish Times accused the U.S. senator of lying about his stance toward Israel, especially when it comes to his voting record.

In one example, Morris calls out the senator for voting against U.S. military aid to Israel.

“When a bill offers Israel tangible strategic support—munitions, rifles, bombs, military and financial assistance—your record is abysmal, and you throw Israel under the bus,” he wrote.

Morris then accuses Ossoff of pretending to support Israel in “rhetorical” actions, not meaningful ones.

“When a rhetorical bill reaches the floor—condemning Hamas after Oct. 7 or affirming Israel’s right to defend itself—you vote with heartfelt sympathy for Israel.”

He said Ossoff supports Israel only when convenient, including for “nonbinding rhetorical measures” such as Israel’s right to protect itself, or in denouncing Hamas.

U.S. Rep. Mike Collins, who is running against Ossoff in the November election, told the Daily Signal that Ossoff is “a sellout who is too afraid to stand up for what’s right when his next political promotion is on the line.”

He continued, “He must answer for why he has sided with the pro-Hamas, anti-America faction that’s sweeping his party and wants to obliterate our borders, cut off our allies, and open our jails.”

“Ossoff has voted against Israel’s right to defend itself at every opportunity,” Collins concluded.

The accusation of being anti-Israel comes at a pivotal time in Ossoff’s career. This letter is just the most recent sign of frustration among leading Jewish leaders across the state, Jewish Insider reports.

In an email exchange with the Daily Signal, Morris further voiced frustration with the senator from Georgia.

“I believe he is making his vote political—either attempting to be part of the anti-Trump group, or jumping on the bandwagon of Netanyahu bashing, or wanting to send a signal to Israel, or wanting to send a signal to the DSA [Democratic Socialists of America] faction,” Morris said.

Elsewhere in his open letter, Morris wrote, “[You] backed some of Senator [Bernie] Sanders’ resolutions to cut off Israel’s weapons in late 2024, again in July 2025, and on April 15, 2026, you went furthest yet—voting to block every sale on the floor. Your vote continues to demonstrate a lack of support for the Jewish state.”

Morris concluded by urging the senator to stand with the nation of Israel.

In another comment to the Daily Signal, Morris said, “What he [Ossoff] is totally missing is that his non-support of Israel is threatening a staunch ally and we should never make political decisions that can cause our allies harm.”

The Ossoff campaign did not respond to the Daily Signal’s request for comment.
