Page Six was first to report that Barr had just wrapped up shooting eight episodes of the show, which is about a “mixed-race family of preppers in Texas.” Barr’s character is reportedly on a quest to “throw her granddaughter the most fantastic bat mitzvah Texas has ever seen.”

Barr told Page Six of the show, “It’s every bit as revolutionary as ‘The Roseanne Show,’ if not more, and my work has improved with time. I want everybody who disagrees in a family to sit in the same room and just laugh and go, ‘Yeah, maybe I was an a**hole that time. Well, you were an a**hole this time. Oh, we’re all a**holes. Let’s get a beer.”

“I thought now would be a great time for people to actually hear from a Jew,” she added.

Barr’s daughter will be played by actress Drea De Matteo and her granddaughter is Instagram star Indy Bugg, for whom fellow comedian Mo’Nique had vouched.

“Mo’Nique calls up, ‘Check this girl out. She not only looks like you, but she acts just like you, too. She was only 12, and I about fell over that I was able to get her. She’s such a star. You’ll see it in the first episode, in her first scene,” Barr told the outlet.

Other characters in the show include Randy Quaid, who plays Barr’s husband, Omar Gooding, the brother of Cuba Gooding Jr, who plays Barr’s son-in-law, and Doug Jones. There will also be guest appearances from Jon Lovitz, Kim Congdon, and Tony Hinchcliffe.

Barr said the comedy show is just about being funny and will appeal to everyone.

“My daughters are super woke and of course I love them, so I put in jokes for them, too, like I did on ‘Roseanne.’ I make fun of everybody ’cause everybody deserves to be made fun of who’s in power. So, I’ve got some great jokes about Republicans that the lefties are gonna love. I’m an equal opportunity destroyer,” she told Page Six.

Barr mentioned a comedy show being in the works last January, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

“If Hollywood doesn’t buy it, then I’m just gonna make it myself,” Barr said. “Does anybody in [Hollywood] like America or the people who watch TV? Because the people who watch TV would really like to see a show where working-class people win against the enemies of America.”

“Hollywood has made itself irrelevant to the American people,” she added. “If they want to survive, they should work with the new president [President Donald Trump]. American people elected him in an overwhelming victory. They should get back in touch with [them] and make some money, which I don’t know if they do or not ’cause they’ve proven to be ideologues rather than [business people]. What shocks me is the fact that they prefer to lose money and then explain that to the shareholders who apparently have no problem with that.”

The comedian found massive success in the late 80s and 90s with her eponymous ABC sitcom about a working-class family. “Roseanne” ran from 1988-1997. In 2018, a reboot of her hit series with the same name was hugely successful. However, that same year Barr was fired following a tweet that was quickly labeled as racist. The show was canceled and the series later came back to the network without her, retitled “The Conners.”

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
