Trump Announces Historic Deal With Greenland

President Donald Trump announced Friday that the United States has reached an agreement with Denmark and Greenland that he says gives the U.S. “permanent control over security” on the Arctic Island.

He said the U.S. will “immediately begin the process of developing a large Military presence” there.

“BREAKING NEWS: I am pleased to announce that the United States of America has entered into an Agreement with The Kingdom of Denmark, and Greenland, that gives the United States permanent control over security, and all other needs, in Greenland, completely addressing ALL of our many U.S. concerns,” Trump said in a post.

Trump claimed the agreement comes at no cost to the United States and guarantees Washington “FOREVER” the “complete ability to do what is necessary” to secure and defend Greenland and the United States.

“Additionally, from now on, no U.S. adversary can EVER have a base in Greenland, have a military presence in Greenland, or make sensitive investments in Greenland, without our express written approval,” Trump said on his Truth Social platform. 

The announced deal, as Trump describes it, would fulfill a longstanding pledge from the president to take over or effectively control Greenland, a push that has sparked international outrage and months of tensions between Trump and Denmark over the strategically important territory.

“This is an ‘Infinite Life’ Agreement, there is no end!” Trump said. “We are very honored and proud of what has just taken place, and everything agreed to today will be cherished by the American People.”
