Pulte is currently director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency and chairman of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. In his roles, he has pursued mortgage fraud referrals against political opponents of Trump, including Federal Reserve Gov. Lisa Cook, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and California Democrat Sen. Adam Schiff.

“William has deep experience managing the most sensitive matters in America, the safety and soundness of the Markets, and over 10 Trillion Dollars at Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, a substantial increase from where it was just 12 months ago,” Trump wrote on TruthSocial Tuesday.

Pulte will maintain his other roles while serving as acting director of national intelligence.

“Congratulations to Director Pulte!” Trump said.

Gabbard announced on May 22 that she would resign from the Cabinet, effective June 30, to care for her husband, who is fighting “an extremely rare form of bone cancer.”

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
